Friends In The Desert offers a number of programs designed to meet the needs of the homeless and disadvantaged.

Friends Location

The Friends meal program is served in the St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church dining room. Downtown Henderson NV

Hot Meals

Prepared fresh daily by volunteers in our kitchen, wholesome dinners are served to our Friends.

Sack Lunch

The kitchen is closed on Sunday. Sack Lunches are provided on Saturday

Hot Meals Program

Hot Meals: Friends serves hot meals at 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and at 11:30 AM Saturday along with sack lunches on Saturday to provide a Sunday meal, when the kitchen is “dark”. Meals are prepared by volunteers or donor organizations and served to our guests by the volunteers. This is a table service where the guests are seated around tables bringing together as many as 8 visiting friends per table in a family style atmosphere.

Basic Hygiene

Friends in the Desert seeks donations of and purchases preventive health care items such as soap, shampoo, feminine hygiene products, tooth paste, tooth brushes and other related items such as Socks and Clothing… these items are available based on the items donated by private organizations or individuals. Clean socks and underwear and hygiene items are critical for the prevention of health problems.

Participate & Donate

You can make a difference! There are many opportunities to participate in your own way at Friends in the Desert. Your contributions help our guests in transitioning from homelessness and unemployment to gainful employment. The transition from life on the street to new occupations and more permanent housing is a measure of the difference you can make by participating in your own way at Friends in the Desert.
